The People of Rosarito!
In Rosarito Beach we have every type of people imaginable!
From crazies, famous ones, gangsters, good folk, bad folk, entrepreneurs, lazy ones, workaholics, to name some. The list is unlimited.
Depending on the area that one is located, will depend on what will see; here is an example: if you go to the popular colonies up on the hill you will find ladies tugging along their children, hollering sales people, gangsters in every corner just waiting for someone to mug and you can always count on the stray dogs (someone should lock them up and kill them, fucking mangy dogs).
Downtown Rosarito: Tourist (some lousy, they only come to make their riots, smoke pot and snort coke) walking on the Benito Juarez boulevard, business people making their rip off, religious and/or fanatics from some sect trying to convince any soul that comes along to join their post-apocalyptic movement, more dogs (even some dead on roadkill boulevard), taco stands (and specially "Los Poblanos" tacos almost 100 people raid the stand like if they were giving them away), the famous "Maria" Indian women with their brats around them panhandling with a sorry face (when they are the ones making more money that some of us).
On the beach: Of course there's always the surfers (cybernetic salutes to Aldo Arias and his clan!), the temporary concession stands selling "churros" of mixed fruit, sorry looking guys trying to impress passing "gringas" with their "Charles Flatlas" physique.
And why go on, Rosarito (rather small) is a fucking mess. One of the weekly town papers has a column named "Rosarito chico, infierno grande" (which translates to "small Rosarito, big hell"); sometimes I feel that's right.
One of the most famous of the weird and homeless characters in town is "El Chago", it's a tragic story, his life (his mother died of tuberculosis, his brothers taken away, he was left alone), but with all that he is one of the Symbols of Rosarito. A cybernetic salute goes out to him, wherever he may roam.
Maybe what you find anywhere, anyplace around the world, you may find here, but like in all parts, with the seasoning of the place. Anyway, Rosarito is always a nice and colorful town (according to Mr. Juan Rojo who comes from Sinaloa to work in CFE).
