Dear Brethren:
I want to welcome you to this section where all will have the opportunity
to have a space where you will be able to voice
out about several topics (so much Masonic as not Masonic); for this
way to be able to give light so much to the one profane world as to the
worldwide fraternal town, with the condition that like in the Lodge that
you don't discuss about politics or religion; we will already have space
in another forum for that later.
To begin this section, and to break the ice; I put to your disposition
the Masonic moral code according to the Liturgy: (*NOTE I traslated this
directly from the book, so if something dosen't look right please let
me know about it!)
MASONIC MORAL CODE
This code is recognized universally by all
the Masonic Powers, from the Reorganization
of Masonry by the Great Lodge of England in
the year 1717 and approved by the Convent of Lau -
sana, Switzerland, September 5 of 1785, c.'. e. '.
Adore The Great Architect of the Universe.
Love your neighbor.
Make the well and allow men to speak.
The true cult to GOD, consists on the good customs.
Make well, for the love to the very same one.
Conserve your soul pure, so that can it can be presented at
all times before before GOD, free of everything reproach.
Love gook folk, understand the weak ones, escape from evil ones,
but don't hate anyone.
Speak to great ones respectfully, advisably to your equal, sincerely
to your friends, and with fondness to the poor.
Don't ever adulate your brother, because it is a betrayal, and
if your brother adulates you, distrust, don't let it corrupt you.
Always listen to the voice of your conscience.
Be the father of the poor: each sigh that your hardness pulls
out of them, it will be a curse that will fall on your head.
Respect the foreigner and the traveler, because their position
makes it sacred for you.
When at your time you are a foreigner, don't abuse of that circumstance
seeking bigger considerations that those of justice.
Avoid disputes, forsee the insults putting reason before all.
Respect women; never abuse of their weakness, die before dishonoring
them.
If the Great Architect of the Universe gives you a son, thank
him; but tremble for the deposit that He trusts in you, because from there
on you will be for that boy the image of the Divinity.
Make him fear you until he is TEN; up to twenty love you, and
until the death respect you. Until those TEN years be his their teacher,
up to the TWENTY his father, and until the death his friend.
Teach him before good principles, and later beautiful ways:
so that he owes you an illustrious doctrine, better than a frivolous elegance.
That it is better a honest man that not a skilled man.
Read and take advantage, go and imitate, meditate and work;
and that everything redounds in your siblings' benefit, for your own utility.
Alway know contentment for everything, with everything and of
everything.
Never judge lightly the actions of men, forgiving them or condemning
them. GOD that it is the one that sounds our hearts, it is only He who
can appreciate their work.
It is as much as.
